Two rebel suspects detained in Russia’s Dagestan
DAGESTAN, 14 August, Caucasus Times – Police officers have detained in Dagestan’s Novolakskiy District a resident of the village of Balansu in Chechnya’s Nozhay-Yurtovskiy District. The detainee is accused of fighting federal forces in Chechnya in 2000 as a member of a bandit group led by Rappani Khalilov [rebel Dagestani commander].
A local resident was also detained in Dagestan’s Khasavyurtovskiy District. He is accused of sheltering members of bandit groups in his home, the law-enforcement agencies reported.
