Police patrol car fired upon by unknown criminals

DAGESTAN, October 29, Caucasus Times – Patrol police jeep car was fired upon late night in Makhachkala, spokesman for the regional Interior Ministry said.
Unidentified criminals opened assault rifles fire at the patrol police from a Zhiguli car. A 25-year-old woman, who happened to be in police car, was slightly wounded. She had been detained earlier for identification at a police station.

The attackers ran away from the scene leaving their car. Police detectives found two improvised bombs in the Zhiguli car, six bags with aluminum powder, pail with high explosive and detonator, a Kalashnikov assault rifle with four loaded magazines, scores of batteries, chargers, radio-controlled detonators and Wahhabism religious literature. There were also documents of the car owner who has been identified. Police will check his possible implication in the crime.
