Elections of the heads of municipalities finished in Karachaevo-Cherkessia
KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSIA, 16 January, CaucasusTimes. Second round of the elections of the heads of newly created Prikubanskii, Malokarachaevskii, Urupskii and Zelenchukskii municipalities has recently finished in Karachaevo-Cherkessia.
Source in the republican election commission has told CaucasusTimes correspondent that no major violations had been registered during the voting procedure. In spite of the fact that voting activity of the population in the second round is usually not so high, around 64% of the population took part in the elections.
“Hasan Bolurov, republican parliamentary deputy, won in Malokarachaevskii municipilaty; Nikolai Belanov, head of the local power company, won in Zelenchukskii municipality; Viktor Belonin won in Urupskii municipality and Husein Kaziev won in Prikubanskii municipality keeping his previous position:, – source in the election commission informed.
On 25 December 2005 there were conducted elections of the heads of eight municipalities of Karachaevo-Cherkessia. Heads of Habezskii, Adyge-Hablskii, Karachaevskii and Ust-Dzhegutinskii municipalities have been elected in the first round. Muharbii Shebzugov, Fral Shebzugov, Eldar Salpagarov and Anzor Laipanov kept their posts as heads of municipalities.
