President of Adygeiya running for Duma seat is the richest candidate
ADYGEIYA, October 24, Caucasus Times – The republic president and vice-president having being registered the candidates to a deputy seat in Russian Duma are on vocation, due to the election campaign, the Caucasus Times correspondent reports citing the presidential office press service.
There were several candidates registered by the local electoral commission, who run for a deputy seat in Russian Duma aworded for Adygeiya electoral district # 1 . While the vice-president of Adygeiya Nikolai Demchuk, was nominated by United Russia party, two other candidates were nominated by the Communist Party (Grigory Senin, the acting legislator representing Adygeiya to Russian Duma) and the Right Forces Union party – Natalia Filipeyeva, as of now a resident of St.-Petersburg, deputy manager of the Balttourist” joint-stock company.
As of October 24, of all 19 nominees three candidates have been officially registered, papers of other 15 candidates are being verified by the electoral commission, while only one candidate’s documents were not submitted to the election board as yet. The candidates who run the election to represent the republic to Russian Duma from the electoral district # 1 (Adygeiya) are about to compete for only one legislation seat awarded for the republic.
As to the president of Adygeiya Khazret Sovemen, he was nominated the candidate by “United Russia” party, and balloted in the federal party list, and is about to campaign for the seat to win as the pro-Putin party nominee. Moscow mass media have reported citing the Russian Electoral commission the President of Adygeiya appeared to be the richest of all candidates running for deputy seats. His income, as of 2002, exceeded $300 millions.
