Servicemen’s checking-up Karabulak refugees camp vicinity
On June 12, a group of Russian servicemen were carrying out ‘cleansing operation’ in the vicinity of ‘Bart’ the Chechen refugees tent camp.
Inhabitants of the camp proved Federal servicemen with trained dogs had been checking up the territory adjacent to the camp along Sunzha river after midnight. The event ensued uneasiness and inhabitants got panicked trying to escape mass detainment since the refugees had already heard a ‘mopping up’ was about to happen. “We woke up our neighbors and fled to sit out there all night long until the dawn. Afterwards, when the solders disappeared we were back,” related Chechen woman Toiyta Kurbanova, a former inhabitant of Gronzny being refugee in the camp.
Ingushetia’s Ministry of Interior claimed they had no information on the incident.
