Task forces track down militants In the south of Ingushetia

Ingushetia, August 12, Caucasus Times, – Special task forces hunting down a group of insurgents spotted recently in the forest Galashki village close by, an officer said in his interview with Caucasus Times correspondent

“The incident occurred near bordering Chechen territory when a Russian army reconnaissance unit had spotted and tracked down a group of militants in the large forest area nearby Galashki. The insurgents heading southwest opened assault rifle fire and two of them were killed in the firefight with no army casualties,” said the officer.

The killed militants have not been identified. Russian army moved up special task forces sealed off the scene and started sweeping the area. However, there are no results as yet. The task forces have been hunting down the militants thus far.
