Wahhabi groups running separate cells in Russia’s Dagestan – police

MAKHACHKALA, 25 October, Caucasus Times: There is no single centre of underground Wahhabi groups in Dagestan, but there are individual groups in four districts of the republic – Buynakskiy, Makhachkalinskiy, Khasavyurtovskiy and Yuzhnodagestanskiy, the republic’s law-enforcement agencies have reported.

In Khasavyurt District the criminal underground has almost disappeared, a group of up to 15 rebels is operating in Buynaksk, and there is a 12-strong group in Makhachkala.
